Update 12/26

Jessica has been moved to the ICU where she will use the CPAP machine to help her lungs work at full capacity. One of her lungs is partially collapsed due to the effects from the surgical biopsy and the tumor. While the preliminary results from the biopsy suggest the type of Wilms that responds well to chemo, they are still waiting for the final results which should be in by Tuesday. Jessica will start chemo Tuesday or Wednesday.

Please continue to keep sweet Jessica and her family in your thoughts and prayers,
Sara (Chandra's sister)

  4. I know that every single one of these little kids at Primary's are fighters. I know Jessica will be one too. They seem to have a little extra help from our Heavenly Father and I know she will fight through this. Your family is in our prayers every night. Both our kids pray for Jessica! Keep fighting Jess....You are awesome!

  6. I found this blog from the "All Things Thrifty" blog. I'm sorry that your family has to go through this. But I want to offer a bit of encouragement. When my brother was 2 years old (back in 1981) he was diagnosed with bi-lateral Wilms Tumors. It had also spread to his lungs. He had to go through a couple rounds of chemo and radiation, and they removed one kidney and part of the other. He is now a healthy adult. His one kidney grew to the size of 2 adult kidneys to compensate for only having one. Kids can and do recover from this! While I can't fast for your family due to pregnancy, I can add my prayers to those already being said on behalf of your family. Call on the power of prayer and the power of the Priesthood. They are real. May Heavenly Father hold you in his hands and give you comfort and peace through this ordeal.

  11. I found your blog through a couple of places. My heart goes out to you. My son does not have cancer at all, but he does have Chronic Kidney Disease and received a transplant 4 years ago. He sees the kidney doctors there at Primary Childrens and we know that they are the best! Good luck.
